Founded in 1971, UniRitter is widely recognized for its law, architecture, and design programs and its tradition of providing quality higher education throughout the region. UniRitter serves more than 6,000 students through its two campuses in the Rio Grande do Sul region of Brazil; one in Porto Alegre, and one in Canoas.

UniRitter offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Architecture and Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Design, Education, Information Systems, Law, and Literature. UniRitter has the highest level of evaluation for university centers in the state of Rio Grande do Sul from both the Ministry of Education and Culture and Guia do Estudante.

Community involvement is built into courses as part of UniRitter's extension activities for students.
